WHAT'S NEW

The Gospel in Our Community: A Summer Sermon Series on James

Summer has finally arrived in the Northwest, and warmer temperatures have us flocking to parks, patios, lakes and trails.  The beauty of God’s Creation in this part of the world is one of the biggest reasons why we love to call it home.

One of my favorite parts about summer in Seattle is that it forces us to rub elbows with the community around us.  After waiting (im)patiently through an endless fall/winter/spring, we’re all chomping at the bit to get outside.  And when we do, it’s a beautiful thing!  Neighbors finally emerge from their homes, parks are packed, and lakefront sunning space is at a premium. And best of all, this much-needed dose of Vitamin D seems to put everyone in a good mood.

That’s why Pastor Matt’s sermon series on James couldn’t come at a better time.  As we interact with our neighbors this summer, it’s important to remember what our faith looks like.  How do our neighbors see us?  We may proclaim the name of Christ, but do we act like it?  Is our faith “deedless?”

Join us on Sunday mornings this summer as together we learn from James what it means to live out the Gospel in our community.

“Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.” (James 3:13, NIV)

Hard Questions in Habakkuk

Sometimes those books from the minor prophets can be difficult to understand, and Habakkuk is no exception.  Habakkuk brings some tough questions before his God, and the answers he receives from the Lord are even tougher.

Join us on Sunday mornings as Pastor Matt walks us through this difficult, truth-filled dialogue between God and Habakkuk.  And more importantly, how it applies to our lives today.

If you’ve missed the first couple of sermons, don’t worry – you can catch up by listening to them from our Sermons page.

See you Sunday!
