Women's Ministry
WIC at Bellewood (Women in the Church)
PURPOSE
Because Christ, in his death and resurrection, has removed all barriers to his power and grace (we have all put on Christ and are one in Christ Jesus [Galatians 3:27, 28]) we have great confidence that God has called Bellewood Presbyterian Church to encourage and support the growth and life of the women in our church community. All believers are full members of Christ's body, and hence, women are vital to the life and ministry of our congregation.
VISION
We envision women leading ministries at Bellewood that engender the spiritual growth of women in a manner that pleases and glorifies God. We envision these ministries to be grounded in Scripture, accomplished through Bible study and discipleship. We further envision that the blessing of this ministry will extend to all members of Bellewood and to the community at large by equipping women to exercise their gifts.
In keeping with our vision for WIC to engender spiritual growth, we will begin our women’s Bible study September 16 and 17. Our focus this year will be on prayer – a vital aspect of our Christian lives and church family. We will alternately use two studies, “Before the Throne of God” by Carol Ruvolo and “The Way of the Psalms” by Kathleen Nielson. A daytime meeting will be offered on Tuesdays from 10:00 to 11:30 am beginning September 16. An evening meeting will be offered on Wednesdays after the potluck supper from 7:15 until 8:30 pm. Elise LaCroix will lead the evening study and Sarah Driftmier will lead the day study.
In addition to Bible Study, Bellewood Women in the Church offers many opportunities for fellowship and service in the church.
